The SASHIKO PACK, Focusing on the Traditional Japanese Art of Sashiko
Sashiko is a traditional handicraft that has been passed down in Japan for a long time. Its simple and beautiful technique was developed from the wisdom of daily life.
It is said that sashiko was born in the early 16th century, but since this technique can be found all over the country, there are various theories about its birthplace, but sashiko in the Tohoku region is particularly well known, and it is said to have started when people sashiko their clothes to protect them from the cold and reinforce them to withstand the harsh cold.
Nowadays, it is attracting attention not only in apparel but also in sneakers as one of the iconic textile processing methods and one of the textiles that evoke Japan.
The SASHIKO PACK includes two models: the 10th WAVE RIDER model, "WAVE RIDER 10," released in 2006, and the "WAVE RIDER β," which is packed with key elements of past WAVE RIDER models and has a modern design.
Both shoes feature a distinctive layered stitch design and upper material made up of a variety of textiles, all in a single white color.
